Fundraising Walk from Castletown to Port Erin

Sunday 20th May 2018, 10.00am start (Registration opens at 9am)

Family friendly 9 mile walk starting at Castletown lower harbour and finishing at The Foraging Vinters in Port Erin, suitable for all ages and dogs are welcome too!

The Route: Coffee Republic in Castletown will be open where coffee, tea & breakfast can be enjoyed to fortify you before you head off. The route follows the Arbory Road to the by-pass and then cuts down to Pooil Vaaish where it then follows the coast to Port St Mary giving you some spectacular scenes as you make your way from one harbour to the next. At around 9 miles long you a leisurely 3-4 mile an hour pace will get you to the finish in under 3 hours

A Second Start: at Port St Mary Harbour, next to the RNLI office, is available for those that prefer a shorter walk; entry fee is the same.

Marshalls will be well placed along the route ensuring you follow the course. Green Mann Spring Water refreshment tables are well placed so you don’t even need to carry your own water.

Register your dog but please keep them on the lead at all times.

Entry Fee: £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for children (under 18 - must be accompanied by an adult at all times) and Seniors (over 60)

The Hub

Located in Thie Rosien this warm and well lit building is home to the Hub Club, the Information Hub and the Community in the Kitchen.  Situated outside are two sheds, home to the Men in Sheds project and to the rear of the building is the Has Beans gardening project.  

Beach Buddies

Beach Buddies has spent the last 10 years transforming the beaches and coastline of the Isle of Man and the charity removes huge amounts of rubbish every year - 2.4 million items during 2016. The Big Beach Bins project is a major success and invites everyone who uses the beach to fill a bag and make a difference."  Events take place for volunteers every weekend and new volunteers are most welcome.  During 2017 Beach Buddies will pass the landmark of 7,000 individual volunteers since 2013 and expects to pass 8,000 later this year.  www.beachbuddies.org.uk

SPort Erin

SPort Erin is a charity established with the key goals of providing a permanent pitch for Southern Nomads RUFC and in doing so to facilitate the provision of sporting facilities for the south of the Isle of Man. In realising these, the intention is to then to increase the ongoing participation in rugby on the island and hence to further encourage sporting events across the south of the island from a wide range of sporting disciplines.
